Evaluation samples of the PPG sensor head will begin shipping in April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>To date, SCIVAX and TSLC have combined a partner company\u2019s materials technology with SCIVAX\u2019s optical lens design technology and TSLC\u2019s packaging technology to develop the world\u2019s smallest light-source device, \u201cAmtelus\u00ae,\u201d and have begun shipping evaluation samples. Leveraging the technologies cultivated through \u201cAmtelus\u00ae,\u201d the companies have now succeeded in developing a product that significantly miniaturizes the sensor head (signal acquisition section) of PPG sensors used as vital sensors in smartwatches and other devices, compared with conventional products.<\/p>\n<p>This device achieves significant miniaturization compared with conventional devices, with a mounting area of approximately 1 mm<sup>2<\/sup>\u2014about one-tenth of the conventional footprint\u2014and a device thickness of about half.<\/p>\n<p>The main features of the PPG sensor head are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf <strong><u>Smallest size<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By minimizing the mounting area of the PPG sensor head, it can be installed even in tight spaces where installation was previously difficult.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf <strong><u>Expanded applications through multiple placement (array configuration)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using multiple PPG sensor heads enables more precise sensing.
